HubZone Certified

AZ Industries, Inc. is a woman-owned, HUBZone certified, small business physically located in Hardy, Arkansas. Our HUBZone certification number is available upon request. It is our plan to create job opportunities and improve the economic future within the HUBZone for which we operate.

Applicants for the HUBZone program must meet the following criteria before applying or being certified;

  • The business must be considered as a Small Business by SBA standards.
  • It must be both owned and controlled at least 51% by a US citizen, a Community Development Corporation, an agricultural cooperative, or an Indian tribe.
  • The principal office must be located in a Historically Underutilized Business Zone, or a HUBZone. To be considered a principal office, this location is where the greatest number of employees at any one location are performing work.
  • At least 35% of the small business employees must reside within a HUBZone as well.

The HUBZone empowerment contracting program was enacted into law in 1997 as a part of the Small Business Reauthorization Act. The SBA’s HUBZone program is in line with the efforts of both Congress and the Administration to promote economic development and employment growth in distressed areas by providing access to more federal contracting opportunities.

Benefits of the HUBZone program include competitive sole and source contracting as well as a 10% price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions (as well as subcontracting opportunities). The Federal Government has a goal of awarding 3% of all dollars for federal prime contracts to HUBZone certified small businesses.
